Peitz to Fürstlich Drehna

IMG_0804

Cattle out in the open . . . but they don’t seem to know what to do with the space.

IMG_0802Rain threatened all morning but largely held off. Another ride among woods, meadows and water. More dual-language signs makes Germany seem like a properly foreign country. There are so many storks and stork nests that I no longer give them a second look: I only stop for cranes, me. The cycle route goes round half of the Drehnaer See – a former mine – and right up to the Schloss, tonight’s billet. The frogs in the Schlossteich are croaking insistently, and I disturbed a deer on my evening walk.
