The garden today


img_0073Although it’s still cold, bleak and sunless, life is returning to the garden: the birds are in their finest plumage; the ramsons are coming through, as is the garlic I planted in a last-ditch attempt to keep black spot at bay; there are patches of colour in the flower beds; the hellebores I had forgotten I’d planted are popping up all over the place; the moss is mocking me; and it’s leeks and broccoli for tea.
