The Brompton returns


img_8547Well, that was a great little excursion. The Brompton and I made it back up the hill with luggage without having to walk – albeit with about four stops “to admire the view”. Once up, the road keeps you high for several kilometres, going through small villages and past Byzantine churches. I’m always surprised by the number of churches in comparison to the population. It’s as if each spring and crossroads needs its own saint. I stopped at one with an open door, and – after checking that shorts were acceptable dress – went inside. It wouldn’t have held more than a dozen people for a service, and every surface was still just about painted:
