Oelsnitz to Bad Elster

Near Rebersreuth

The weather has been very cold these last couple of days, but it hasn’t affected my enjoyment. One of the things that I really like about following these German cycle routes is that they take you along paths and to places that you would never normally visit.

Such as Bad Elster. Much bigger than Bad Schmiedeberg and with “Royal” in everything.

Bad Elster station.

It’s so close to the Czech border that the ride just had to be extended to get some Czech dust on my wheels. B&B costs 9 euros there rather than 10 times as much here. How can the EU cope with such differences side by side?

Now off to the opera in the King Albert Theatre.
