Garden in February

It was fine enough to work in the garden today. As I cut away last year’s dead growth and top-dressed plants in the front borders with the contents of the compost bin, I could hear the bleating of new-born lambs in the field across the way.

Crocuses are blooming in the front lawn

I’m still waiting for the snowdrops to form clumps

The primulas are looking a bit tatty

The leeks are more like over-sized spring onions

The willow is coming to life

And this is the first day I have seen a celandine.
